Visiting Newcastle? Pick up a hire bike and enjoy a leisurely ride along flat, designated bike paths around Newcastle’s working harbour. Head out to the Breakwater, take a detour to Carrington or hop on a ferry to Stockton. 

For a longer ride, follow the Bathers Way along Newcastle’s spectacular coastline, or ride 15km from Adamstown Station to Belmont, along the former rail line at Fernleigh Track. From Belmont, you can also get to Lake Macquarie’s foreshore paths. From Glendale to Wallsend, through Jesmond and Lambton Parks, bike paths follow former tram routes back to the city. Here for a while? If you’re in town for a few weeks or months, we can provide discounted long-term hire rates for a commuter bike to suit your needs.

Just an hour or two? We service our bikes before each rental and therefore have a minimum one-day hire fee. For shorter term casual hire, check out the pay-by-hour bike racks operated by Bykko or Swipe & Ride.

Where? Hire bikes are collected and dropped off from our Newcastle West shop, centrally located and easily accessible via public transport Please note our shop opening hours (2pm close on Saturday, closed Sunday). We do not have after hours drop off options.

Electric? No sorry. We only have pedal bikes for hire.  No electric.

Inclusions: Helmets and locks are included with your hire.  If required for night riding, we can also provide lights.

Booking: To book a bike, PLEASE FILL OUT THE BOOKING ENQUIRY BELOW. Remember to tell us your height and what you plan to do so that we can select a suitable bike. Don’t forget to tell us if you need lights or any other special requirement so that we can prepare the bike prior to pick up. PLEASE NOTE OUR SHOP HOURS when considering your booking.

A booking deposit is not required, but if you need to cancel please let us know as soon as possible so that we can make the bikes available to others.  Payment of the hire fee and a bond as well as presentation of a Driver’s licence or similar photo ID will be required when you pick up the bike.
