Perfect for complimenting a retro re-build, these wide, steel rear racks are suitable for bikes with 26″ and 27″ wheels.
The extra width is great for mounting baskets that require lots of support (eg. wicker/rattan). Available in chromed steel only.

SPECIFICATIONS

Fit: These are not an adjustable rack so need to be installed on a bike with the correct sized wheel or the rack platform will be tilted when installed.

Width: 20.3cm

Load limit: undefined by manufacturer so we recommended carrying loads no greater than 7-10kg. The fine wire construction is NOT super strong for heavy loads and definitely not for use with a child seats.

Installation: Requires two mounting bosses at the top of the seat stays and the extra wide diameter hole at the base of the rack stays is designed to mount to axle nuts (rather than frame bosses). For all rack installations, install with a washer and medium strength Locktite to help prevent bolts undoing with vibration over time. As for any racks, check bolt tightness and rack damage as part of your regular bike safety check. Cease bike use and remove rack if any damage is evident or bolts are loose.

Care: Chromed steel may rust in salty environments, so we recommend an inital and ongoing application of Boeshield T9 for rust protection.
