Salsa Fargo Apex 1 – 2020
The Salsa Fargo is designed as an all-terrain drop bar touring bike, capable of handling everything from technical singletrack trails, two-track, gravel, and the occasional paved road. Predictable handling with or without a load. It’s the Salsa to ride for multiple-day, multiple-surface excursions.
The Fargo is a combination of the Salsa-designed, triple-butted, and frame size-specific seamless Cobra Kai CroMoly tubing, with the most full-featured high modulus carbon bikepacking fork available – the Firestarter 110. The Firestarter features four sets of ‘Three-Pack’ mounts offer incredible load carrying possibilities, mid-blade mounts for low rider racks, internal cable routing for dynamo hubs and fender mounts.
The build specification centres around the Sram Apex 1 1x11spd drivetrain, with an ultra wide 11-42t cassette. The Salsa Woodchipper Deluxe bars are the optimal choice for the Fargo frame. Terravail Sparwood 29 x 2.2″ tyres roll fast, smooth out rough surfaces, have incredible rollover, and deliver plenty of traction for mixed surface routes.
